California Association of Chemistry Teachers

This year, it will be held on Saturday, November 8th at Skyline High School in Oakland. The theme of our conference will be Green Chemistry. Please join us for a day of lectures, lunch, labs and activities.

Come hear a talk from Alicia Chakrabarti, Engineer at the East Bay Municipal Utility District. She will tell us about EBMUD's work on converting sewage grease into a useable biodiesel fuel.

Next, Dr. Jeff Grossman of UC Berkeley will tell us about nanotechnology and its use in energy. Dr. Grossman heads up the Computational Nanoscience Group at UC Berkeley, and is actively engaged in a number of research areas relating to the simulation of nanoscale materials and interfaces and nano-photovoltaics.
